First Half Of Garage Is Started

Today I worked very hard on the garage.  It looks much better.  Swept it, moved boxes, built shelves.  Did a good job.  Now that the car is back in, the black shelf, which is narrower than the white shelf, turned out to cut out the traffic flow from the driver’s side of the Prius to the door.  It’s mirror is too close to the shelf and I cannot get my body past it.  Maybe if I lost a couple more pounds.  Naw.  I will get Rex to fix this on Saturday.  We will go to Home Depot and get more of these shelves now that we know they are sturdy enough and easy to put together.  Plus they have small feet which keep them from the poured cement garage floor.  And as you can see from the pictures our gas heated water tank is nearby, so in case some leak comes along, the stuff on the shelves will not be ruined.

This week we also purchased an artificial plant for the living room.  It has silk leaves and is hand made in Moxee, Washington.  The stalks look like they are constructed from genuine wood.  After some bending and shaping, the plant looks terrific sitting behind Rex’s chair.  Of course, we went artificial because my mother forgot to bear me with a green thumb like hers.  And there will be no water stains on the carpet should by overflowing.  Here’s the shot:

Finally, new pictures were purchased from Furniture Factory.  They are copies of course, but they look great.  I will post these when we hang them somewhere, which won’t be hard because almost all our walls are bare.

Looks like a worthy project. Like the shelves, I have the same ones at the Dos and in my basement.

My my, that’s quite an improvement. I like the position of the new plant too, it’s better than were it used to be. Boy my cat is so hyper this morning, he’s dashing about my bed and batting at the blinds control bar with fervor.

Look at you! 20 boxes later, all that heaving and hoing and groaning and suffering and now your garage looks way bigger. Now when I pull the car in everything will be safe. Its just those poor plants outside that run for cover…… your living room is really coming together. It looks lovely.
